The CARD (Computer Aided Registration of Documents) project is one of the most ambitious and prestigious undertakings conceived by the Andhra Pradesh government as part of its e-governance initiative. The CARD project will connect 400 locations across the state of AP to the main office in Hyderabad. Once this project reaches completion, any registration made anywhere will be automatically updated to the main database server in Hyderabad. This is the very first project of its kind to be implemented in India. All the District Registrar and Sub Registrar Offices will get connected to the Head office through a giant WAN network of leased lines. Network security considerations will also be taken care of by setting up firewalls and VPNs.
